Lorenz Otto Koerth, 82, of Burton, died January 26, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Koerth was born October 26, 1923, in Burton, to Willie Fritz and Emma Hertel Koerth. He was baptized January 20, 1924, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine and was confirmed April 10, 1938, in the same church. Mr. Koerth was a life member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, where he served as sexton of the cemetery for many years. He was also a member of the Burton Fire Department and a 50-year member of Sons of Hermann. Mr. Koerth was a farmer and worked for Washington County Fence Co. for many years. He was also employed by Foehner Funeral Home for years. Survivors include his sisters, Lucille Eberhardt and Lorena Boehnemann, both of Burton; nieces and nephews, Leslie Jr. and Jane Boehnemann, Roy and Linda Boehnemann, Ronnie and Tracie Boehnemann, Tim Eberhardt, Judy Eberhardt, Jennie and Jerry Simpson and JoAnn and Mark Hundemer; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Junebug Koerth and LeRoy Koerth; sister, Ella Koerth; and brothers-in-law, Leslie Boehnemann, Sr. and Armond Eberhardt. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine with Pastor Pam Werrell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Boehnemann, Leslie Boehnemann, Jr., Ronnie Boehnemann, Tim Eberhardt, Mark Hundemer and Jerry Simpson. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Miller, Bobby Finke, employees of Burton Café and friends at the round table at Burton Café. Memorials may be given to Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine.
