Lorine Goldberg

Lorine Goldberg, 75, of Brenham, died Jan. 25, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Goldberg was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Carmine, TX, to August and Adeline Hilscher Mueller. She was baptized in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine and attended Washington County schools. On Dec. 31, 1949, she was married to Leroy Goldberg at the home of Leroy s parents. Mrs. Goldberg was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton, where she was a member of the Mary Martha Sewing Circle. She was also a member of Burton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Goldberg was a homemaker and was affectionately known as Granny by her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Barbara Goldberg Schoenemann and husband Keith of Carmine; grandchildren, Misty Lucherk and husband Kevin of Burton, Kacey Weiss and husband Chad of Brenham and Nick Goldberg and wife Kim of Burton; great-grandchildren, Riley and Cooper Lucherk and Cade Weiss; sister-in-law and caregiver, Elnora Stanley of Ledbetter; sister-in-law, Ruth McClellan of Rosenberg; brother-in-law, Harry Goldberg of Ledbetter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Goldberg, on June 23, 2002; her son, Lemroy Goldberg, on Jan. 3, 2003; and brothers, August Mueller, Jr. and Bennie Mueller. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Goldberg, Kevin Lucherk, Chad Weiss, Ronnie Stanley, Wayne Dallmeyer, Randy Stiewart and Richard Kominczak. Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley or St. John s United Church of Christ Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
