Lorine Ernestine Hodde died March 11, 2013 at the age of 94. Born September 16, 1918 to Henry and Annie Witschorke Hodde, she was raised in the LaBahia area of Washington County. She was both baptized and confirmed at St. John''s United Church of Christ, where she remained a lifelong and faithful member. Lorine''s early years were spent on the family farm learning the value of hard work. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. John''s United Church of Christ, with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Lorine took great pride in her plants and flowers, which could always be appreciated as one approached her home. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing her talents of quilting. She helped create many beautiful quilts, a treasured possession for those privileged to have them. Her love of animals was apparent in the way she cared for her cats. Whether attending a family get-together, a quilting event, or a Sunday morning church service, Lorine was always ready all with her kind, sweet smile, and her familiar greeting. Lorine is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Eberhardt and Vera Dell Lehde and husband Calvin; brother-in-law Raymond Blum, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Allyne Jaster and Anna Dell Blum, and brothers Wilton Hodde and Erwin Hodde. Serving as pallbearers as a final tribute are her nephews.
