Lorine Kettler Schroeder, 94, widow of Nolan Schroeder, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 2nd.
Lorine was born on October 25, 1928 to Henry Kettler, Jr. and Erna Thane Kettler. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn. She was baptized, confirmed, and married there, to Nolan Schroeder on March 15, 1953.
Lorine received her education at the William Penn schools, graduating high school in 1946. She spent her life as a homemaker, devoted to her husband, raising her children, and being the very best “Granny” to her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking for her family and baking wonderful desserts. Everyone loved her cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes and delicious crème puffs.
Lorine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sheryl Schroeder; grandchildren, Shelby and Andrew Adams, Shane and Jessy Schroeder, Jared and Brooke Jensen and Zachary and LeAnn Jensen; great-grandchildren, Parker, Lyla, and Peyton Adams, Emersyn and Nolan Schroeder, Paige and Madison Jensen, Brody, Sawyer, Madden and Masyn Jensen; sister-in-law Pauline Kettler, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nolan Schroeder; daughter, Suzette Schroeder Jensen; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Walter and Lena Rosenbaum Schroeder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Leona Kettler, Herbert and Alvina Kettler, Wilbert and Odell Kettler and Raymond Kettler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Irvin Ashorn and Erna and Lawrence Lueckemeyer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harven and Adela Schroeder, and Ervin and Walline Hinze.
Special thanks and appreciation to the staff of Hospice Brazos Valley and High Hope Care Center for the loving care and attention given to Lorine.
Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn and Hospice Brazos Valley.
Serving as pallbearers are Jared Jensen, Zachary Jensen, Shane Schroeder, Andrew Adams, Billy Ashorn, Don Jaehne, Matthew Kettler, and Robert Kettler.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Kelly Krieg officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
