Lorraine Shaw

Lorraine Hollick Shaw, 88, of Brenham, TX, died Feb. 6, 2004, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Shaw was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Tioga, Sherman County, TX, to Herman and Mary Ann Sembera Hollick. She was baptized in Oakwood Methodist Church in Houston. On Oct. 24, 1938, she married W. Alden Shaw in Temple, TX. Mrs. Shaw was a retired LVN. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Willis A. and Lucy Shaw of Sacramento, CA; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Al Seeliger of Houston and Anne and Charles Barnes of Tomball; 9 grandchildren, Wesley Shaw of Sacramento, CA, Wendy Seeliger of San Antonio, Vonda Seeliger of Austin, William Seeliger of Richardson, Wayne Seeliger and wife Lisa of Idaho, Becky Elbert and husband Craig of Rosehill, Bill Barnes and wife Tena of Brenham, Brian Barnes and wife Kelli of Brenham and Tiffany Leger of Houston; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and sisters, Laverne Kubin of Houston and Helen Fajkus of Bellville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W. Alden Shaw, Sr.; three brothers; and two sisters. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Dr. Wesley Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Willis A. Shaw, Jr., Al Seeliger, Charles B. Barnes, Bill Barnes, Brian Barnes and Craig Ebert. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
