Lorraine Teufel

Lorraine Margie Teufel, 85, the widow of Kermit Teufel, passed away September 29, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Brenham. Rev. Jon Stouffer and Rev. Kay Reed will officiate. Interment will follow in Pilgrim''s Rest Cemetery in Industry. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m., Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Lorraine Teufel was born July 16, 1930 in Brenham to Otto H. and Nettie Belle Minton Stepan. She was baptized at Nelsonville Brethren Church and confirmed there August 15, 1943. On August 15, 1948, she was married to Kermit Teufel at Nelsonville Brethren Church. She was employed as an insurance secretary and also cared for her family as a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brenham. Mrs. Teufel was also active in the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #48 of Brenham and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 7104 of Brenham. Lorraine was a spiritual person who enjoyed sharing her love of God and His creations. She took great pride in caring for her family, friends, animals and family land. Lorraine''s hobbies included needlepoint and attending her husband''s Army reunions. She also enjoyed serving as a chaperone for the Methodist Youth Choir trips. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Amy Teufel of Houston, and sister-in-law, Ella Mae Teufel of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Nettie Stepan, her husband, Kermit Teufel and her Goddaughter, Kelly Beth Balke. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Koehler, James Balke, Ken Teufel, Rick Alexander, Randy Raska, A.C. Wessels, Allen Stepan, Robert Turner, John Brieden and Pedro DeLeon.
