Louis Bresler

Louis Walter Bresler, 94, passed away December 22, 2010 in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. this evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Bresler was born September 29, 1916 in the Sandtown Community of Washington County, Texas to George and Adelhaid Neutzler Bresler. He ws baptized January 8, 1917 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton by Pastor H. L. Schulz, and confirmed April 9, 1933 at Zion Lutheran Church in Zionsville by Pastor Karl Mueller. He attended Washington Co. schools. Mr. Bresler served in the U. S. Army in Germany during World War II, and worked in the public sector for several years before returning to Washington County. On March 5, 1960, he married Dora Lehrmann Buck. Together they were in the dairy business near Long Point before moving to Brenham. Survivors include stepchildren and spouses Lucille and Billy Dabbs of Pearland, David and Evelyn Buck and Curtis and Kathy Buck of Brenham. Also surviving are step grandchildren: Susan McElya and husband John; Natalie McNuelty and husband Brian; Mark Buck and wife Cindy; Landon Buck, and Marissa Rudloff and husband Cliff; step great-grandchildren: Courtney Burgess and husbanc Zach, Cody McElya, Cara McElya, Chris McElya, Ellen Stephenson and husband Jeremy, Shannon BUck, Dawson Rudloff and Hailey Rudloff. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dora, on June 26, 1995; sister Alma Bresler, brother Henry Bresler, and two step-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers are John McElya, Mark Buck, Landon Buck, Cliff Rudloff, Cody McElya, Chris McElya, Kenneth Korthauer, Travis Boeker.
