Louis Vavra

Graveside services for Louis Joe Vavra, 90, of Brenham, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Mr. Vavra passed away February 21, 2015 in College Station, at the age of 90. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Vavra is survived by his wife, Frances Faye Grider Vavra of Brenham; son, Dave Crawford of Houston; Wayne Crawford, Jr. of Brenham and daughter Jonnie Nottingham of Houston; daughter, Beth Kirk, also of Houston; grandchildren Dave Cook, Holli White, Chloe Kirk, Becky Kirk, Rainna Kirk, Ashlie Crawford, Sarah Trombly, Jeff Nottingham, Alvin Crawford, Thomas Crawford, and Cody Crawford; sister Helen Willis of Houston; nieces Pat Wilson of Wharton, Laura Ann Shrerer and Beverly Riderman of North Dakota, and a nephew, Harold Vavra, also of North Dakota. Louis J. Vavra was born March 10, 1924 in Center, North Dakota to Joseph F. and Katie Beba Vavra. After completing his education, he served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II, serving in both the Pacific and Atlantic Theater regions. On October 22, 1993, he married Frances Grider in Clute, Texas. Funeral arrangements for Louis J.
