Louise Derrick, 97, of Burton, widow of Hugh A. Derrick, passed away January 30, 2008 in Brenham Rest Home. Mrs. Derrick was born January 1, 1911 in Burton, Texas to Julius Edward and Pauline Wolters Felder. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg Rev. H. Weber. She was educated in the Burton schools. On November 18, 1934 she married Hugh A. Derrick in St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Rehburg by Rev. Lehne. Mrs. Derrick was employed as a teacher''s aide in the Burton I.S.D., and thoroughly enjoyed her time with the students. Mrs. Derrick seldom missed an episode of the "Guiding Light" television show She was a faithful member of St. John''s United Church of Christ of Burton, as well as St. John''s Ladies'' Circle II. Survivors include a son, Donald Derrick of Burton, and a sister-in-law, Allyne Derrick, also of Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and four sisters. Funeral services for Louise Derrick will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg and Pastor Greg Felder officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. The family will receive friends and relatives at Foehner Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1. She will lie in state at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham Thursday, Jan. 31, and at Foehner Funeral Home beginning Friday at 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be given to St. John''s UCC Building Fund. Serving as pallbearers are Ray Felder, Nelson Felder, Thomas Peterson, Bill Derrick, Kenneth Schwenke, Jason Derrick, Todd Felder, Tyson Felder, and Karl Felder. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
