On Monday morning, October 22, 2007, the grace of God opened wide the gates of Heaven for Louise Christine Keeton. Heaven s and Papa Keeton s gain, is her family and the multitude of friends loss. Mrs. Keeton was born August 25, 1929 in Minerva, Texas to Thomas P. and Ruby Duncan Gunnels. She was baptized in 1953 in Conroe, Texas. On September 21, 1946, she married Joe Bailey Keeton in Angleton, Texas. She was a homemaker. Survivors include sons Billy Joe Keeton and wife Linda of Brenham; Doy Edward Keeton and wife Linda of Brenham; Tommy Keeton and wife Susan of Dickinson; Gary Keeton of Round Top, and a daughter, Margaret Mallard of Brenham; grandchildren: Kim Frazier, Lisa Carter, Angela Poston, , Gary Keeton, Jr., Chad Borchgardt, Clint Borchgardt, Christi Borchgardt, Kay Lawhun, Connie Swaringim, John Keeton, Erin Keeton, Brian Criddle, Joshua Criddle, as well as 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Keeton was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Bailey Keeton; her parents T.P. and Ruby Duncan Gunnels, and her sister, Lottie Faye Harmes. Funeral services for Louise Christine Keeton will be held Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Samuel Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Wednesday, October 24 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are John Keeton, Gary Keeton, Jr., Bryan Criddle, Joshua Criddle, Clint Borchgardt, and Chad Borchgardt. Honorary pallbearers are Zachary Carter, Colton Carter, Sean Poston, Hayden Frazier, Ryan Lawhun, Taylor Lawhun, Trey Lawhun, Austin Keeton, Kyle Swaringim, and Bailey Borchgardt. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
