Louise Mae Weiss Stroech, 78, of Brenham, widow of Herman H. Stroech, Jr. died Monday, June 11, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center. Mrs. Stroech was born in the Salem Community on November 27, 1928 to Edwin L. and Linda Wiesepape Weiss. She was baptized January 1, 1929 at her parents home in Salem by Pastor William Utesch. She was confirmed April 18, 1943 at Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor Arthur J. Mohr. She was educated in the Washington County schools at Salem and Berlin. On August 26, 1951 she was married to Herman H. Stroech, Jr. at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin by Pastor W. C. Poehlmann. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Gary and Sally Stroech of Brenham; grandchildren: Lucas and Chris Ann Stroech of Houston; Carolise Stroech of Denton; Travis Eckert and Sara Eckert of Brenham; great-granddaughter Graceyn Elyse Stroech of Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Alfred Brinkmeyer of Katy; brothers and sisters-in-law Gilbert L. and Allyne Weiss; Edwin and Edna Weiss; Jimmie Weiss, all of Brenham; sisters-in-laws Esther Lueck of Brenham, and Anita Stroech of Bryan, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Teckla and Gus Rust, all of Brenham; Anita Stroech of Bryan, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman H. Stroech, Jr., her parents Edwin and Linda Weiss; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman H. and Emma Stroech; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law. Louise worked as a seamstress for Fabric Care Service and then 20 years for Modern Cleaners until she retired in 1997. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Brenham. Funeral services for Louise Mae Stroech will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Lydia Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Wednesday, June 13 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church of Brenham.
