Lucille Dotson Foehner Lange, 86, of Burton, died March 9, 2007, at her residence. Lucille was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Deanville, Texas, to Louis and Bertha Hogg Dotson. She attended Deanville public schools and was a graduate of Brenham High School and Blinn College. On July 5, 1941, she was married to G.D. Foehner. She and G.D. owned and operated the Foehner Funeral Home in Burton from 1954 to 1983, at which time they leased the business to Memorial Oaks Chapel. After Mr. Foehner s death in 1986, she continued to help out Memorial Oaks Chapel. On July 15, 1989, she was married to Dr. William A. Lange, originally from Rochester, New York. They made their home in Burton. Lucille loved fishing, playing cards, listening to KWHI music and news, but her passion was gambling. She was a charter member of the Canasta Club, which started in 1954, and she later joined the 88 Club. She also cared for her 104-year-old mother for many years and was a founding member of the Brenham Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Dr. William A. Lange of Burton; sister, Opal Cox of New Orleans; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Lew Kieke of Brenham and Becky and Roy Rohde of Houston; Bill and Debbie Lange of Alexandria, Virginia, Joy and Dave Noether of Portville, New York and Dan and Lou Lange of Rochester, New York; grandchildren, Dodd and Mary Lange, Misti Lange, Summer Rohde, Kristen Noether and Cassidy Noether; two great-grandchildren, Logan Lange and Adyson Lange; and numerous Granddogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, G.D. Foehner; one brother; and two sisters. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11 at St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Burton. Relatives and friends of the family will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Brenham Church of Christ, Victory Lane, Brenham, or the Building Fund of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home, 13560 W. Washington St. in Burton.
