Lucille Marie Stoughton passed away on June 19, 2004 at her home in Brenham, Texas. She was born November 6, 1936 in Sparta, Michigan, the daughter of Fred and Augusta Nussdoefer Blush. Lucille was raised on the family farm in the Kent City area where she attended school. She graduated as salutatorian of her senior class and attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In addition to her husband Dale, she is survived by three children, Sheri Reed and her husband Jack of Corpus Christi, Texas; Michele Strealy and her husband of Houston, Texas; Steven Stoughton of Baltimore Maryland and three special grandchildren; Cameron, Taylor and Alison. She is also survived by her mother, Augusta Blush of Kruse Memorial Village in Brenham and a brother, Gordon Blush and his wife Karen of Palm Desert, California. Her father preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Christ Lutheran Church of Brenham with Pastor Arnie Lundborg officiating. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 21, 2004. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, Hospice of Brazos Valley, or the charity of the donor s choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, Texas.
