Lucretia Loflin

LUCRETIA MCCURLEY LOFLIN Lucretia was born June 22, 1926 to L.E. and Mae McCurley. She passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Gazebo Terrace. She was baptized at an early age and knew Christ as her Savior. On July 8, 1944 she married Robert L. Bob Loflin, Jr. To this union, two children were born, Robert L. Loflin, III and Frances Loflin Cromwell. She, Bob, and the children traveled the world together as he was career Navy. She visited many, many places and had friends around the world. Bob preceded her in death on August 27, 1991. In 2005, she moved to Brenham to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law. She enjoyed her involvement with Hospice Boutique until a few weeks ago. Lucretia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brenham and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Rosebud. Lucretia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law, Jerry Cromwell and brother, Sam McCurley. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert & Kathy Loflin, her daughter, Frances Cromwell, her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Jo McCurley and her sister Barbara Jean Drennan, her grandchildren, Robert & Carmen Loflin, Jeffrey Loflin, Amanda Cromwell, James Cromwell, Joshua and Jana Schroeder, and Justin and Ashlea Schroeder. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Jacob Cromwell, Clay and Colin Schroeder, and Jacob Schroeder and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted by Dr. Carl Jennings at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, at Travis Cemetery in Travis, Texas where she will be laid to rest by her husband. Memorials in her honor may be given to Hospice Brenham, 302 E. Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Texas 77833 or your favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Funeral Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, Texas.
