Funeral services for Lydia Helen Rippenhagen Loesch, 95, widow of Melvin H. Loesch, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 25 in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, with Pastor Kindlee Lund officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Loesch passed away February 22, 2013 in Brenham Rest Home. Lydia Helen Loesch was born June 24, 1917 in Prairie Hill to John and Louise Hodde Rippenhagen. She was baptized September 23, 1917 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, and confirmed there on March 20, 1932. In this same church, she was married to Melvin H. Loesch on Nov. 30, 1939 by Rev. P. Gogolin. The family later became members of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Lydia was employed at Blinn College from 1975 to 1992 in the food service department. Activities she enjoyed were playing cards and dominoes, and crocheting. Traveling and spending time with her family were also favorite pastimes. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Betty Loesch of Sweeny; grandchildren: Dr. Kimberly Loesch-Rosenbaum and husband Mark, and Timothy Loesch and wife Kathi; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Loesch, and Mason and Michael Rosenbaum; sisters-in-law, Hilda Lorenz, Alma Kenjura, Edna Schroeder, Selma Wellmann and husband Robert, all of Brenham, Rose Lee Lohmeyer of Washington, and Ella Flynt of Iola. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin H. Loesch in 1974, sister Alice Hearne, and brothers John W. Rippenhagen and Erwin Reppenhagen. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Tegeler, Craig Stickley, Leonard Dannhaus, Atwood Kenjura, Gordon Lohmeyer, David Wellmann, Jerry Meschwitz and Roger Meschwitz. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements for Lydia Helen Loesch are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
