Lyle Dean Kirts, 77, of Burton, husband of Patricia Hayes Kirts, died May 5, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul s Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Steve Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Born October 25, 1932 in Brownson, NE to Leonard Francis and Alta Rosina Shindle Kirts, he was baptized January 10, 1957 in Grace Lutheran Church in Sutherland, NE. On February 2, 1957, he was married to Patricia Roslyn Hayes in the same church. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955, and then continued to serve in the Army Reserves. Lyle was a retired HVAC/maintenance technician. A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, he was also active in the Rocky Creek VFD and the American Legion Post Buddy Wright #48. In addition, he was a lifetime member of the NRA, and was an avid hunter. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patricia R. Kirts; sons and daughters-in-law Leonard and Linda Kirts of Burton, and David and Laurie Kirts of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law Belinda and Joe Dudenhoeffer of Brenham; grandchildren: Bryan and Shayne Kirts, Patrick Kirts and special friend Nelda Navarro, T. J. and Kaci Dudenhoeffer, David Dudenhoeffer and special friend Abby Bozarth, Jaci Dudenhoeffer, Kayla Kirts, Kyle Kirts; great-grandson Steven Dudenhoeffer; brother Roland Kirts and sister Pat Johnson, both of Sutherland, NE. Other relatives include sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jean Molena, Linda Schulz, Richard and Shirley Hayes, Richard Linn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard and Alta Kirts, sisters Alta Marie Bench, Sandra Kirts, sister-in-law Shirley Linn, and mother-in-law Eunice Hoatson. Serving as pallbearers are T. J. Dudenhoeffer, Bryan Kirts, David Dudenhoeffer, Patrick Kirts, Scott Johnson, Bill Johnson, and Kyle Kirts. Honorary pallbearers are Kayla Kirts, Jaci Dudenhoeffer, and Trinity Medical Center maintenance employees. Memorial contributions should be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, or to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
