Lynn Keenan

Lynn Eldred Keenan died January 28, 2007. He reached the miraculous age of sixty-four. He was born in 1942 with a serious heart defect, each and everyday that he lived was a Miracle granted by the grace of God. He was born in Beaumont, Texas to Eldred Samuel Keenan and Marie Clark Keenan on October 31, 1942. He spent his childhood in the Beaumont area. He was well taken care of by his beloved grandmother Clark, and his father, Red and stepmother Marg. He was baptized at Broadway Baptist Church in Houston. In high school he sang in the choir at Pineburr Baptist Church. He sang many wonderful solos in his rich baritone voice. He also learned to play classical piano. He attended Lamar University where he met, his wife to be Gaylain Low. In 1965 they married at Faith Presbyterian Church in Pasadena. They made their home in Houston where Lynn continued his education at the University of Houston. Lynn worked for over thirty-five years, as an Electronic Technician, Electronic Design Engineer, and Auto Cad Draftsman. He assisted in the design of medical devices, oil field instrumentation, and military defense electronic devices. In 1974 Lynn became the proud Father of Brian Eldred Keenan. They shared a love of computers. Lynn and his family moved to Brenham in 1987 where he resided until his death. He enjoyed computing, communicating and emailing his friends, reading and creative writing. Lynn was a compassionate and caring man who will be missed by many loved ones and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Eldred Samuel Keenan, Marie Clark Keenan, half brother Gary Jacobs, Father and Mother in laws, Ted and Kathleen Low, brother-in law Sam Low. He is survived by his wife, Gaylain Keenan, son Brian Keenan, step mother Marguerite Keenan, sister Samme Wallace, aunt Helen Hicks, brothers in laws, Charles Wallace, Ted Low, Dennis Low and sister in laws, Carolyn Low and Cheryl Gutierrez. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Dr. Malcolm McIver officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
