Lynnette Voskamp of Industry, Texas passed away on the morning of February 11, 2025 at the age of 79 years. She was born in Bellville, Texas to Lorenz and Ruth (Knoblock) Voskamp on August 10, 1945. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Texas. She was a Columbus High School graduate class of 1963.
Lynnette grew up in New Ulm on the family dairy. She worked for the New Ulm Enterprise for over 50 years where she helped print and deliver the weekly newspaper as well as served as the newspaper photographer. She would do much of the printing as well. She loved to cook, especially bake. She baked bread, doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, pies, cookies (50 dozen per week), and decorated cakes at the Voskamp Market. After Voskamp Market sold, she served as secretary for Welcome Lutheran Church for over 20 years.
In 1987, Lynnette joined Industry Methodist Church where she was an active member. Through the years she served on the administrative council, was a member of the Methodist Women, Nurture Committee, Emmaus Group, and Dora Circle. Lynnette loved her church family and was a big supporter of the children and youth.
Lynnette was a proud supporter of her community. While living in New Ulm, she was a member of the New Ulm Volunteer Fire Department's Auxiliary and the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce. Once she moved to Industry she joined the Industry West End Lions Club. In all of these organizations she was usually an officer and actively involved.
Lynnette loved baseball. In her younger years, she spent many evenings avidly watching her beloved New Ulm Firemen Baseball and working in the concession stand (1979 to the early 2000s). To say she was a fan of the Texas Rangers is an understatement. If the Rangers were playing, she was watching (win or lose). She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and quilting.
In her later years, Lynnette faced many health impairments from fighting cancer to learning to walk with a rod in her leg and to drive with her hands rather than her feet. Lynnette had many great friends who would help her through her many adversities by driving her to doctor's appointments, cooking her meals, and just visiting. She was a fighter even to her death.
Lynnette is survived by sister, Pauline Kettler of William Penn, brother and sister-in-law, L.P. Voskamp Jr. and wife Cynthia of Thompson and sister-in-law Dixie Voskamp of Brenham and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother- Lorenz and Ruth Voskamp, brother-Richard Voskamp, sister-Kathryn Voskamp, and brother-in-law-Raymond Kettler.
