M. Rooker, Jr.

M.F. Rooker, Jr., 80, of Brenham, died May 17, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Rooker was born June 20, 1925, in El Campo, TX, to M.F. Sr. and Bessie Edlund Rooker. He attended Jones Creek School and served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines. On Dec. 20, 1948, he was married to Bernice McClure in El Campo. Mr. Rooker was a member of the Methodist Church in El Campo and was a retired carpenter and painter. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Rooker of Brenham; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry Rooker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Sammy and Kimberlee Rooker of Brenham; daughter, Kathleen Rooker of Brenham; grandchildren, Rebecca Waits and husband Terry of Austin, Matthew and Staci Rooker of Brenham; and great-grandchild, Zane Waits of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Alton; and a sister, Edith Hicks. Visitation with the Rooker family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 19 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20 at Garden of Memories in El Campo. Pallbearers for Mr. Rooker will be Larry Rooker, Sammy Rooker, Matthew Rooker, Terry Waits, Gene Bena and John Roads. Service arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
