Mabel Landua Hill, 84, of Bellville, died Oct. 11, 2015, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at Bellville United Methodist Church in Bellville with Malcolm Monroe and Amy Haralson officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time and following the service. Mrs. Hill was born July 2, 1931, in Brenham, TX, to Louis Henry and Henrietta Kiel Landua. On July 4, 1952, she was married to William R. Hill. An elementary school librarian, Mrs. Hill loved reading books and doing daily puzzles in the newspaper. She enjoyed and marveled at her six great-grandchildren and loved watching them on the farm. She always had time to sit on the porch and visit and was the chief name-giver to all the chickens and new calves. She was an avid quilter and birder. Survivors include her husband, William R. Hill of Bellville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lyn and Rickey Moye of Broaddus, Rebecca and Vince Trahan of Bellville, Rachel and Keith Wall of Spring and Susan and Brian Wenberg of Belton; grandchildren, B.J. and Arlene Moye, Julie and Kyle White, Jake and Stacy Moye, Jeff and Jenny Trahan, Justin and Bina Trahan, Bevin and Phillip Noack, Austin Trahan, Kathleen Wall, Sarah Wall, Jack Wenberg and Cade Wenberg; great-grandchildren, Vivian Moye, Lilla Moye, Luke Moye, Grace Moye, Lucas Trahan and Benjamin Trahan; and sister, Blanche Seidel of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Harvin, Oliver, A.J. and Kiel Landua. Memorials may be directed to Bellville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
