Madge Elizabeth Hearne Yackey, 90, of Brenham, widow of Dwight Allen Yackey, died May 15, 2009 in Kruse Memorial Village. Born July 8, 1919 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Charles Anson and Jennie Myrtle Carr Hearne, she attended high school in Oskaloosa and completed two years of college. On December 7, 1944, she married Dwight Allen Yackey in Warrensberg, Missouri. She was employed in the oil and gas industry as an executive assistant. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law John and Darlene Yackey of Brenham, and Steve and Patty Yackey of Columbia, S.C., as well as four grandchildren: Margaret and Mat Darby of Austin, Susan and Bud Yackey of Columbia, and Karen Yackey of Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dwight, two sisters, Helen and Janiece, and two brothers, George and Walter. A graveside service for Madge Elizabeth Yackey will be held in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009. Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary in Littleton, Colorado is in charge of services in Colorado. Memorials may be directed to Kruse Memorial Village or to Hospice of Brazos Valley.
