Maerue Lyon Nagy, 83, of Brenham, formerly of Houston, died June 22, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Nagy was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Sherill, Arkansas, to David C. and Pearl Mashburn Lyon. She was a retired office manager for Boehck Equipment Co. and Preco Equipment Co. Mrs. Nagy was a member of the Baptist church and former member of Park Place Baptist Church in Houston. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Nagy of Brenham; and two grandchildren, Michael C. Nagy of Austin and special friend Michele Mikeska and Heidi Parker and husband Jonathan of Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alfred A. Nagy; and two brothers. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Jim Heckman officiating. The graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 23 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Parker, Michael Nagy, Charles Tucker, Dennis Mahoney, Cory Tucker and Gary Lyon. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Brenham 302 E. Blue Bell Rd., Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
