Mamie Roemer

Mamie Irene Roemer, 84, passed away January 13, 2019.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Tinker officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Mamie was born March 31, 1934 in Ledbetter, Texas to Paul and Irene Weber Pietsch. She was baptized April 15, 1934 at home, and confirmed August 8, 1948 at the Waldeck Lutheran Church. She was a 1952 graduate of Carmine High School.

On October 31, 1953, she married Milton Roemer. Mamie was a long-time resident of Burton, but made Ledbetter her home for the last few years. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Employed for many years by Blue Bell Creameries, she retired in 1999.

A great cook, she welcomed her family over for many good meals. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and treasured time spent with all of them.

Her husband, Milton Roemer preceded her in death, as did her parents, Paul and Irene Pietsch; in-laws Herbert O. and Alma Mueller Roemer; brothers-in-law Herbert Roemer, Jr. and Kermit Roemer, as well as her sister-in-law, Anita Roemer.

Mamie is survived by her two sons, Rickey Joe (Rhonda) Roemer of Ledbetter, and Terry Roy Roemer of Burton; Daughter-in-law Jackie Ray of Burton; grandchildren: Justin Roemer of Ledbetter, Kyle (Karen) Roemer of Carmine, Kurt (April) Roemer of Burton, Hannah Roemer and friend Robbie Yanowski of Brenham; great-grandchildren: Matthew Roemer of Carmine and Reagan Roemer of Burton; brother: James (Shirley) Pietsch of Ledbetter; brother-in-law Clarence (Linda) Roemer of Schulenburg; sister-in-law Alice (Robert) Wiederhold of Caldwell; sister-in-law Gladys Roemer of Carmine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Kurt Roemer, Kyle Roemer, Justin Roemer, Gary Pietsch, Mark Roemer and Scottie Roemer. Honorary pallbearers are Hannah Roemer, Karen Roemer, April Roemer, and Robbie Yanowski.

Memorials may be directed to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine.
