Margaret Dekoch

Margaret Jane DeKoch, 85, of Brenham, died March 9, 2013, at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Mr. Bill Januszewski officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the service until 1:00 p.m. Mrs. DeKoch was born January 20, 1928, in Mission, Texas, to Roy Dennis and Margaret Caroline Taylor Buckley. She attended Mission High School in Mission, Stephen Junior College in Columbia, Missouri and the University of Texas in Austin. On November 24, 1948, she was married to Robert C. DeKoch in McAllen, Texas. She was a member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church in Brenham. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family and was loved dearly by her family. Mrs. DeKoch was a great cook and enjoyed providing her family and friends with a great place to come home to. She made everyone feel they were special. Even though she had been affected by Alzheimers for several years, our memories of her are still vivid and fondly remembered. She will be missed dearly. Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" C. DeKoch of Brenham; sons, Owen C. DeKoch Tammy of Magnolia and Rob T. DeKoch Patrick of San Francisco, California; daughters, Jan Chase Russ of Hockley and Carol Eckstrom Neal of Cuero; grandchildren, Mark Maurer, Becky Maurer, Paul Maurer, Matthew Eckstrom, Sarah Eckstrom, Ethan DeKoch and Melissa DeKoch; and great-grandchildren, Dieric Maurer, Sahily Maurer, Scott Bauer and Cassidy Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Roy D. "Coot" Buckley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Kruse Village Employee Fund, 1700 E.
