Margie W. Hodde, 75, of Houston, died June 17, 2005, at her residence. Mrs. Hodde was born July 5, 1929, in Kittrell, Texas, to Earl and Lucille Mayes Williamson. She was a graduate of Huntsville High School. She earned her BBA in 1948 from Sam Houston State University and her MBA in 1951 from the same university. On June 2, 1951, she married Calvin F. Hodde in the First Baptist Church in Huntsville. Mrs. Hodde was a teacher for many years, including three years for the Cameron School District and 30 years for the Houston Independent School District at Sam Houston High School. Mrs. Hodde was a member of Alpha Phi Sigma, Kappa Delta Phi, Alpha Chi, the Houston Area Retired Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association and AARP. Survivors include her beloved husband, Calvin F. Hodde of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Wendell Charles and Sammy Hodde of Cypress; daughter, Joan Marie Hodde of Houston; grandson, Tyler Meyer of Cypress; sister, Mary Beth Scott of Trinity; and sister-in-law, Jerry Williamson of Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wilburn M. Williamson, her sister Helen Brown, and her neice Susan Sturgeon. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 20 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Chalk Cemetery in Kittrell, TX near Trinity. Pallbearers will be Tom Whitener, Larry Cantwell, Dane Houston, Jason St. Peter, Scott Wallace, and Mike Johse. Memorials may be given to the St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St. in Brenham, TX.
