Margie Mae Plant, 84, widow of Riley C. Plant, died April 10, 2013 in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Gary Jeeter officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday at noon until service time at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Margie Plant was born February 15, 1929 in Brenham to Jack and Edna Boshear Montgomery. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, and attended area schools. On February 15, 1951, she was married to Riley Plant in Brenham. Margie completed the nursing program at Blinn College, where she was a member of the the first class to graduate from the Blinn College Nursing Program. Over the years, she was employed as a nurse in Brenham, and retired from the Brenham State Supported Living Center. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Plant of San Antonio; grandchildren: James Plant, David Dixon, Leslie Rutherford, and Christina Plant; great-grandchildren: Lauren Mikeska, Meagan Mikeska, Brandon Mikeska, Minna Plant, Riley Rutherford, and Ryan Rutherford, as well as a great-great grandchild, Luke Rodriguez; sisters Bonnie West, Mary Beck and husband, John, and Glenda Apel and husband Jimmy, and a brother, James Montgomery and wife Linda. She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Plant, in 2002, a sister, Jackie Baker, and a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Mathilda Montgomery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements for Margie Mae Plant are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
