Maria Cienga

Maria Carmen Cienega, 70, of Brenham, died May 29, 2004, in Methodist Hospital in Houston. Mrs. Cienega was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Roscoe, TX, to Juan and Estanislada Palafox. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jessie and Carol Cienega of College Station and Johnny and Minerva Cienega of Brenham; and daughters, Evangelina and Jacinto Solano of Alvin, Pauline and Johnny Sanchez of Somerville, Erma and Frank Vittonel of Somerville and Mary Lou Perez and ex-son-in-law, Juan Perez of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Severo Cienega; sister, Lucy Palafox; and brother, Refugio Palafox. The funeral Mass will be offered at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1 in St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brenham. Rosary will be recited Monday evening in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Jacinto Solano, Juan Perez, Travis Cienega. J.P. Perez, Juan Cienega Jr., Marcus Vittonel, Christopher Holder and Michael Holder. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Cienega, Johnny Cienega, Johnny Sanchez, Frank Vittonel and Justin Cienega. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
