Marilyn Stein

Marilyn Faye Grebe Stein, 70, of Brenham, died May 5, 2011 in Sheridan of Navasota. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9 at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Kathy Haueisen officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 8 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Stein was born March 10, 1941, in Bleiblerville, Austin County, Texas, to Reuben J. and Vlasta Stepan Grebe. She was baptized and confirmed in Nelsonville Brethren Church. Mrs. Stein attended the Welcome School and was a 1959 graduate of Bellville High School. On June 3, 1961, she married William Odell Stein in Nelsonville Brethren Church. After her marriage, Mrs. Stein became a member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, where she sang in the choir. She loved the outdoors and loved to go to the farm with Odell. She was a homemaker, loved to cook, watch her grandchildren play sports and listen to Texas Polka Time. She helped others whenever she could. Survivors include her husband, William Odell Stein of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Evelyn Stein and Darrell and Rose Stein, all of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law, Reuben E. and Gladys Grebe of Brenham; and four grandchildren, Sydney Stein, Bryce Stein, Bridget Stein and Dalton Stein. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sidney James Grebe; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.G. and Ruby Stein. Pallbearers will be Tim Grebe, Kirby Klump, Jr., Warren Dale Klump, Kenneth Grebe, Billy Stepan, and Melvin Winkelmann. Relatives and friends of the family are considered honorary pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church Current Fund or the Ladies Aid. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
