Ellen maintained a warm relationship with her former in-laws: Bill and Thelma Murphy of Bettendorf, IA and Frank and Judy Murphy of Charleston, SC. There are nieces, nephews, Uncle Lee and Aunt Faith, friends and acquaintances who will miss her greatly.
Her special friends from years ago are Frances Shutt of Raleigh, NC, Lyn Koll of Phoenix, AZ, Marie Kaczmarek of Friendswood, TX, Debbie Bass of Eagle River, AK and her two very special friends and helpers, Loretta Brown of Orange, TX and Angela Newton of Burton, TX. Her high-school best friend since 9th grade is Wilma Gregg Rains of Broken Bow, OK. Terry Pendas of Chappell Hill and Anne Miller of Chappell Hill were buddies who bailed her out when her computer needed help and she needed good fresh home cooking from Anne’s kitchen. Of course, the Chappell Hill Garden Club gave her roots to this community and friends when she and Rodney moved here from Friendswood.
Ellen felt like a princess when she walked down the aisle to marry her Prince on February 12, 2000. Their union became one of immeasurable love and complete devotion and trust. They traveled, fished, gardened and belonged to two ballroom dance clubs. Dancing became their fairytale life together, and her heart was completely broken when she lost her partner. She never danced again.
