Markeith James Owens, aged 59, died peacefully on June 28, 2017.
Markeith was born on February 20, 1958, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Monroe Charles Owens and Lenora White Owens. A special needs individual, he lived with family most of his life and spent his later years at the Brenham State Supported Living Center.
Markeith was a kind and loving individual. He was cherished by his family and lived a happy and blessed life.
Markeith is survived by his sister, Sherdeana Owens Estakhr; brother-in-law, Fereydoon Estakhr; niece, Amanda Estakhr; and great-nephew, Tyler Estakhr. He is remembered by many members of the White family, the Haghjou family and the Yazdani family, as well as friends including the staff of the Brenham Living Center and the SHARE Program.
Family, friends, hats and horses were Markeith’s passion and delight. He was active in Special Olympics for many years and rode horses with the SHARE Program. He was proud of his horseback riding medals and his hat collection.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 30 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham..
