Martha Compton

Martha Jane Compton, born to Nancy "Nannie" Jane & George Alfred Gordon on April 30, 1937, has gone to dwell in the house of our Lord this January 11th, 2012. Being one of seven siblings, Martha is predeceased by Georgia Jean Stone, Jim Mathis Gordon, Lonnie Carroll Gordon, & Vernon J. Gordon & will be lovingly remembered by Leroy Gordon & Deloris Ann Hunt. Martha married her compassionate & devoted husband, Henry Wayne Compton 1935 - 2001, on July 5th, 1958 & the two created a handsome family. Martha will be leaving a legacy of three sons, Ricky Wayne married to Roxann, Bobby Steve married to Terry, & Micheal Lee. Sharing in the loss of their "Memaw" are her five grandchildren, Colt Wayne Compton & his wife Jennifer, Tiffany Lee Compton-Falk & her husband Erik, Breanna Nicole Murphy & her husband Thomas, Kara JoAnn Pokorny & her husband David, & Chelsey Elyse Richards & her husband Kenneth, as well as two great grandchildren, Reed Michael Murphy & Grady Wayne Compton. Martha''s life has molded a family unit that has proven unbreakable. She & Wayne raised three sons of integrity, walked hand in hand with their grandchildren through the many struggles & successes of life, & will be watching the beautiful lives of their great grandchildren unfold with wonder & love. Please join us in celebrating the life of Martha Jane Compton with visitation at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., and graveside service Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank, TX.
