Martha Allen Maddox, 85, of Brenham, died January 3, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Maddox was born October 29, 1920, in Beaumont to Sheldon Grant and Clara Parker Allen. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brenham and was active in community affairs in Brenham. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Pamela Maddox of Bryan; five grandchildren, Sheldon Grant Hinson, Kimberly A. Morton, Sue A. Nettles, William A. Maddox, II and Matthew A. Maddox; nine great-grandchildren, Jerry Nettles, II, Brent Nettles, Michael Morton, Matthew Maddox, II, Patti Hinson, Travis Hinson, Haley Hinson, Ashleigh Maddox and Wyatt Maddox ; brother and sister-in-law, W.P. and Imogene Allen of Houston; brother-in-law, Dani Ureka of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen J. Maddox; daughter, Patricia Ann Hinson; son, James Owen Maddox; grandson, Gregory Allen Hinson; great-granddaughter, April Ann Nettles; and sisters, Clarice Allen Griffis and Betty Ruth Allen Ureka. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, January 6 at Memorial Oaks Chapel The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Charles Matejowsky officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be William A. Maddox, II, Matthew A. Maddox, Sheldon Grant Hinson, Jerry D. Nettles, II, Brent A. Nettles and Travis O. Hinson. Memorials may be given to Brenham Rest Home, 406 Cottonwood, Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
