Martha Lee Lauter Rodenbeck, 75, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Martha was born January 30, 1939 to Joe and Sadie Brandstetter Lauter in Washington County. She was baptized at Prairie Hill, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham. On December 14, 1957, she married Melvin Rodenbeck. Martha was employed at Jaster''s Jewelry, and later Brentex Mills, where she retired after 40 years of service. A member of St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill and the Brenham Sons of Herman Lodge, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Martha especially loved to play cards and dominoes. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Marlene Rodenbeck; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Brau; grandchildren: Cullen Rodenbeck, Brooke Rodenbeck, Matt McLendon, Dillon McLendon, and Abby Brau; great-grandchildren: Mack Schwarze and Emma McLendon. Also surviving is a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred DeeDee and Don Smith, and a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Karen Lauter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charlie and Bernice Rodenbeck, brother-in-law Elton Pete Rodenbeck, well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Sadie Lauter; parents-in-law Charlie and Lydia Rodenbeck; husband, Melvin Rodenbeck, son, Reggie Rodenbeck; and son-in-law, Edward McLendon. Serving as pallbearers are Cullen Rodenbeck, Matt McLendon, Dillon McLendon, Scotty Smith, Daniel Krolczyk, and Josh Borchardt. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill.
