Marvin Struck, Sr.

Marvin Oliver Struck, Sr. 93, of Burton, widower of Annie Schulz Struck, died December 15, 2009 in Brenham Rest Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Steven Cox officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family Thursday evening at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Born June 15, 1916 in the Rehburg community of Washington County to Jewel and Lena Landua Struck, he was baptized by Rev. Herman Weber on August 27, 1916 in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. On December 1, 1929, he was confirmed in the same church by Rev. C. A. Lehne, and was married to Annie Schulz on July 25, 1935, also at St. Paul s of Rehburg. Mr. Struck was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. A retired ranch hand, he greatly enjoyed going fishing. He delighted in watching his grandkids play in various sporting events, and was especially fond of circle word book puzzles. He faithfully read his Bible and daily devotionals were part of his routine. Survivors include a son, Marvin Struck, Jr. of Somerville; daughters Nora Lee Goldberg of Burton, and Verna May Reuter of Brenham; grandchildren Brenda and Marcus Randermann, Larry Goldberg, John and Tammie Reuter, Rebecca and Chris Coronado, Jessica Struck, Craig and Alisa Boyd, Jennifer Boyd, Tiffany Boyd, Christina Barber, JoLynne Goldberg and Stephanie Reuter; great-grandchildren Stacy and Darren Goldberg, Taurie and Dillon Randermann, Matthew, Nathan and Hayley Coronado, Chase and Ashlee Reuter, Braden and Jaylen Boyd, Tiegan Boyd, and Zachary Zeigler, and a brother-in-law, Eddie Braun of Rockdale. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Lena Struck; his wife, Annie Struck; sons-in-law Monroe Goldberg and Lavern John Reuter; grandchildren Cynthia Dawn Goldberg and Melissa Reuter; three sisters, Margurite Braun, Lucile Dietrich, and Ida Braun, as well as one brother, Roy Struck. Serving as pallbearers are Craig Boyd, Chris Coronado, Ricky Struck, Raymond Bayer, Jerry Merten, and Darren Goldberg. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
