Mary Cegielski Bilski was born on November 16, 1904 in Chappell Hill, Washington County, Texas, one of twelve children born to Stanislaus & Catherine Nowak Cegielski. A lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill, Mary was baptized there in infancy, in her youth she was confirmed there and as a young woman, Mary and Joseph A. Bilski were united there in matrimony. Mrs. Bilski was a faithful member of the Altar Society and the choir. Mary took great pride in her family, devoting her life to her husband and children. On April 30, 1977, Joseph preceded Mary in death. Mrs. Bilski died on Saturday, December 13, 2003 in Houston. Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law: Florian & Ann Bilski of Brenham and Victor Bilski of Chappell Hill; her daughters and sons-in-law: Albina & Andrew Macejewski of Houston, Bibian & Robert Konieczny of Sealy and Mary & Sonny Pool of Beaumont, Texas. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bilski is preceded in death by her husband, parents; a daughter-in-law, Gertrude Springer Bilski, and the following brothers and sisters: Veronica Majewski, Agnes Cegielski, Helen Bednarek, Stella Cegielski, Praxede Cegielski, Michael Cegielski, Wallace Cegielski, Willie Cegielski, Theodore Cegielski, Frank Cegielski and Anthony Cegielski. Rosaries will be recited in Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham on Monday evening, December 15 with the St. Stanislaus Parish rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited by members of the Altar Society of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church prior to the parish rosary. Mrs. Bilski will lie in state in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Chappell Hill beginning at 9:00 a..m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2003. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m., with Fr. Gene Shepard, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
