Mary Blanchard

Mary West Blanchard, 79, of Brenham, passed away on May 1, 2021.

Graveside services will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville, Texas at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021.  Viewing will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Noon prior to the graveside.

Mary Ann West was born on July 21, 1941, to parents George Dewey West and Ottie Marie (Ferguson) West. She grew up in the Sebastian area with her siblings. She graduated from Lyford High School.

On June 10, 1961, Mary was united in marriage to Robert James “Bobby” Blanchard in San Benito, Texas. Bobby’s career in the military took them to many places in the States and abroad. Mary cared for their children, Robert, Linda, and Bryan.

Mary had many multiple jobs  in manufacturing and assembly. She retired at age 67.

Mary was a homebody and was known as a private, quiet person. She enjoyed time at home, working puzzles, and spending time with her many dog companions she had over the years.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Bobby in 2014, and their son Bryan in 1991.

Surviving loving family includes: children Robert (Susan) Blanchard of Brenham, Linda Males of Alvin; brother Jerry West and Cecelia, grandchildren Kaitlyn Males, Brandon Lee Brewer, James Lawrence Skaja; great-granddaughter Ryette Brewer; and other beloved family members and friends.
