Mary Frances Cass, 86, of Brenham, died Sept. 26, 2006, in Oakland Manor Nursing Center in Giddings. Mrs. Cass was born May 25, 1920, in Alta Loma, Texas, to John James and Ada Johnhassan Parker. On Dec. 16, 1940, she was married to Earl B. Cass in Houston, Texas. Survivors include her husband, Earl B. Cass of Brenham; two sons, Earl B. Cass Jr. of Houston and Richard D. Cass of Brenham; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean R. Chambers of Brenham; and Joan and Melton Cowart of Brenham; a brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Joy Mentzel of Franklin; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Cole, Ethel Franks and Anna Rogan; and one brother, John Parker. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Jim Heckman officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Memorials may be given to Oakland Manor Nursing Center in Giddings or Hospice of Brenham.
