Mary Darnell

Mary C. Darnell, 80, of Brenham, the widow of Alvin C. Darnell, died September 14, 2014, at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham with Rev. Jon Stouffer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Mrs. Darnell was born September 11, 1934 in Blackpool, England, to Henry and Ellen Ann Taylor Cross. On December 17, 1970, she was married to Alvin C. Darnell in Corpus Christi. Mrs. Darnell was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brenham and was a retired sales associate at Weiner''s department store in Brenham. Survivors include her niece, Nancy Boecker and husband Don of Brenham; and special friends, Sharon and Jim Woodley and Joe and Janet Green. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church of Brenham or to a favorite charity. Funeral arrangements for Mary Darnell are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
