Mary Haberman

October 26, 1915 — June 8, 2003

Mary Hulda Haberman, 87, formerly of Brenham, died June 8, 2003, in Austin. Mrs. Haberman was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Mendoza, TX to Phillip and Lottie Barth Homann. On Dec. 23, 1943, she married Milton A. Haberman in Gonzales. Mrs. Haberman was active in many organizations including Girl Scouts and 4-H and volunteered over 30, 000 hours of service at Trinity Medical Center. She was a lifetime member of the Lutheran church. She also enjoyed embroidering and quilting. Mrs. Haberman was a wonderful cook and canned or froze most of their vegetables. She cared for children in her home for many years. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Milton A. Haberman of Brenham; one brother, Reinhart Sonny Homann of Mendoza; two sisters, Lena Schuenemann of Seguin and Olga Dischinger of New Braunfels; three daughters, Marlene Johnson and husband Ray of Round Rock, Fae Becker and husband Woody of Inez and Irene Howe and husband Tom of Austin; six grandchildren, Cheryl Lawrence and husband Sam, Hope Hurst and husband Rik, Christopher Nauert and wife Lisa, Craig Johnson, Jennifer Graves and husband Curtis and Coleby Becker; and eight great-grandchildren, Daniel and Mason Lawrence, Shelby, Kaleb and Hayley Hurst, Cole and Hannah Nauert and Caitlynne Graves. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Lottie Homann; and a brother, Arthur Homann. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11 in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 11 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14619 IH-35 North, Pflugerville, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 10 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham. Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be Curtis Graves, Christopher Nauert, Gary Nauert, Gene Stanford and Craig Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brenham, 705 S.
