Mary Victoria Kmiec Jaworski, 91, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010. Mary was born July 15, 1919 in Chappell Hill, Texas to John & Hedwig Kaliszewski Kmiec. On February 14, 1943 she married Edwin Effie A. Jaworski at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Mary and Effie later returned to Chappell Hill to operate a general store, Effie s, until they retired. Mary was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, often working bingo where she was quite known for selling lucky bingo cards and baking delicious cakes. She was also a life-long member of the St. Stanislaus Altar Rosary Society. Mary loved to bake, garden, visit Coushatta and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters. Mary is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Liz and Alois Mazurkiewicz of Cypress, Margaret Marty and Ed Smith of Houston, grandchildren, Roger Mazurkiewicz of Houston, Amy Swierkowski of Chappell Hill, Matt and Mari Swierkowski of Brenham, and great-grandchildren, Kaydee, Alexandra, and Nicholas Franke, Haylee, Hunter, and Harley Hahn, and Caden and Avery Swierkowski. Mary is also survived by a brother, Johnnie Kmiec, and four sisters, Florence Jezierski, Anzelma Janczak, Christine Skeweres, and Lucy & Leonard Sebesta, sister-in-law, Regina Jaworski, numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6 to 8 on Monday, December 27th with a Rosary at 7. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday, December 28th at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with graveside services immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Altar Rosary Society.
