Mary Jo Ann Wehmeyer Lorenz, widow of Harold Lorenz, passed away on July 14, 2009 at the age of 69. One of seven children, she was born November 2, 1939 to Willie and Lillian Mueller Wehmeyer in Brenham, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Lorenz, son Russell Lorenz, her oldest brother, Willie Wehmeyer, Jr., two sisters-in-law: Marion Wehmeyer and Frances Wehmeyer and two brothers-in-law, Ervin Parker and Richard Stephens. She is survived by her grandsons, Garrett Lorenz and Jacob Waters, daughter-in-law Dawn Waters; brothers Clarence Wehmeyer, Lenert Earl Wehmeyer and wife Becky; sisters Dorothy Addicks and husband Lonnie, Nell Parker and Judy Stephens. She also leaves behind many dear nieces, nephews, great nephews and nieces, many friends, and a special cousin, Adolph Charles Wehmeyer. Mary Jo was employed as a comptroller, and was retired from John Moore Plumbing after 35 years of service. She served on the board of directors of Beth Moore''s Living Proof Ministries until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family, traveling when possible, flower gardening and reading. Mary Jo will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, serenity, generosity and the love she graciously gave to everyone around her. The family wishes to acknowledge her dear lifelong friend, Nancy Sandoz, for her unwavering support for Mary Jo. God bless you. Funeral services for Mary Jo Ann Lorenz will be held Friday July 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Charles Parnell and Pastor Lydia Paterson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. Serving as pallbearers are Garrett Lorenz, David Squyres, Doug Courtney, Ervin Parker, Jr., James Wehmeyer, and Mitch Wehmeyer. Honorary pallbearer is Jacob Waters.
