Mary Mertins

Mary Frances Templin Mertins, 76, of Pasadena, died December 23, 2006, at Kindred Bay Area Hospital in Pasadena, Texas. Mrs. Mertins was born November 14, 1930, in Tenaha, Texas, to John E. and Mary E. Robertson Templin. She was married to Harlin Mertins on July 27, 1951 in St. John Lutheran Church of Houston. Survivors include her daughters, Helen Cox of Austin; Connie Mertins of Pasadena; grandchildren, Erica Saldivar and Daniel Cox; and great-grandchild, Ethan Conover. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mertins was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; 2 brothers-in-law, Eric Mertins and Ervin Mertins, and 1 sister-in-law, Josephine Mertins. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Mary Frances Templin Mertins will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Saldivar, Jim Mertins, Rufus Lange, Jr., Cecil Wright, Mike Moudry and Jeremy Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Rosie Bentke and Daniel Cox. Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham.
