Mary White

Mary Bess White, 79, died February 15, 2012 in Willow Park, Texas. Mary was born July 23, 1932 in Happy, Texas to Hershel Clarence McCarley and Maudie Ray Briley. She was baptized at age 16 in First Baptist Church of Happy, Texas. She attended schools in Happy, and on September 28, 1951, was married to Vernon Leroy White of Friona, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church of Brenham, the Senior Saints of First Baptist, the Joy Sunday School class, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed life as a homemaker. Survivors include sons Danny Leon White and Larry Dale White of Brenham, daughter and son-in-law, Lanecha and Eddy Pleasant of Ft. Worth, and grandson, Holden Cody White. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2012 at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Troy Sikes officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Kim White, Kreg White, Kyle White, Kasey Clark, Kyle Mason and David White. Honorary pallbearers are Joy Mason and Kathy Clark. Memorials may be directed to the Senior Adult Ministry of First Baptist Church.
