Matilda Montgomery, 70, of Houston, died July 11, 2003, at her residence in Houston. Mrs. Montgomery was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Scobey, Montana, to John E. and Mary Mymka Kindzerski. She was baptized in 1933 in Ukranian Orthodox Catholic Church in Scobey, Montana. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Montana State College and graduated from the University of Montana in 1955. On Sept. 13, 1952, she married Jack William Montgomery, Jr. in Brenham. Mrs. Montgomery was a registered nurse until 1963. She was a member of St. Steven s United Methodist Church in Houston. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, John Patrick Sr. and Ginger Louise Montgomery of Houston; daughters and son-in-law, Margie Ellen Montgomery of Seabrook and Carol Ann Montgomery and Sundance Walker of Lufkin; brothers, William Kindzerski and Stanley Kindzerski; sister, Elizabeth Kindzerski; and grandchildren, Jack William Montgomery, III, John Patrick Montgomery, Jr. and Virginia Brook Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack William Montgomery, Jr. on Aug. 23, 1982; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Montgomery, on April 9, 1955; son, Allan William Montgomery, on May 7, 1956; and daughter, Marsha Jane Montgomery, on April 16, 1963. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Cramer Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be John Patrick Montgomery Sr., Ginger L. Montgomery, Margie Ellen Montgomery, Jack William Montgomery III, John Patrick Montgomery Jr., Virginia Brook Montgomery, Stanley Kindzerski and Carol Ann Montgomery Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Carol Ann Montgomery Walker, William Kindzerski, Sundance Walker and Loyd Gee. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
