Mayra Acosta

Mayra Acosta, age 64, of Brenham passed away September 23, 2024 surrounded by her husband and children.

Mayra was born June 5, 1960 to Luciana Vasquez in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Mayra was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter Cathedral, San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church when she moved to Brenham, Tx.

She married Nick Acosta on March 21, 1989 in Brenham, Texas. Mayra was a homemaker. She loved cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She liked to watch Telenovela and Football with her husband. She also enjoyed eating seafood and dancing. Mayra loved her family dearly and cherished spending time with them.

Mayra was preceded in death by her mother, Luciana Vasquez; sister, Reyna Esther Vasquez; brother, Jose Ricardo Vasquez and nephew, Gerson Miguel Fuentes Vasquez.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Nick Acosta; children, Beyonce Acosta and Reyna Moreno; grandchildren, Ohany Acosta, Yahir Figueoa, Charlotte Moreno; sisters, Rosa Marina Vasquez and Maria Dolores Amaya Vasquez; brother, Samuel Antonio Castillo Vasquez and numerous other family members.

Pallbearers will be Ohany Acosta, Yahir Figueroa, Jesus Moreno, Marden Lemus, Pete Martinez, Jared Wilson and Benny Murillo.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with burial following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
