Melton H. Roberts, Jr, 79 passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughters present, Friday, December 8, 2023 in Brenham, Texas.
Melton was born September 17, 1944 to Melton H. Roberts, Sr. and Margaret Gasper Roberts. On December 1, 1967, at Stephen F. Austin University, he met a girl who would be the love of his life, his best friend, Dana Hall. He asked her to marry him in February of 1968, and they were wed on May 25, 1968, and in Lindale, Texas. While still in college and married, he was drafted into the US Army and served in Vietnam. Upon his return from Vietnam, he completed his degree and graduated from SFA.
His life’s work, passion for the cows and horses, and the impact he had on his family and friends provided a legacy that will live on. No matter what happened in life, he always had a positive, gentle approach and faith that God would carry everything out as he saw planned. Melton will always be remembered as a man that never forgot where he came from and never pretended to be what he wasn’t. He carved his name in our hearts and left the memory of a man that will always be in our hearts.
Melton is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Dana Hall Roberts; daughters, Kim Littleton (Doug), Kelly Summerville (Mark); grandchildren, Haley, Reed, Jennalee Littleton, and brother Gary Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his parents Melton Sr. and Margaret Roberts; In-laws, Dan and Irene Hall; sister-in-law, Kay Risinger, 2 special angels and brother-in-law, Randy Hall.
