Mervin Merv George Lindsay, 71, of Burton, died Dec. 5, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Lindsay was born Oct. 11, 1933, in Houston, Texas, to John Henry and Julia Childs Lindsay. He graduated from Patty Welder High School in Victoria and served four years in the Navy during the Korea Conflict. On April 7, 1975, he and his wife Janice were married in Houston. He was an electrical supervisor at Cameron Iron Works. Survivors include his wife, Janice Jan Ruth Lindsay of Burton; sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Diane Lindsay of Katy, Martin Lindsay of Houston, Arbie Beisert of Magnolia, William and Debbie Miller of Brenham and Richard and Kelly Miller of Hockley and Mark Miller of Hockley; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Elbert Seabolt of Lubbock, Heidi Ramirez of Katy and Joni Manuel of Conroe; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilburn Lindsay of Bosier, Louisiana, John Lindsay of Albany, Missouri, Alvin Lindsay of Hempstead; and sisters, Ellen Hanson of Victoria and Aileen Luster of Kingwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Al, Bobby, Charles and Ansel; sisters, Rose Perkins and Angelina Lindsay; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wilhelm and Amanda Rackel. A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Special thanks go to his friends, family, Hospice and co-workers for their prayers and support. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, in Brenham.
