Michael Boehnke

Michael Wayne Boehnke, 58, died May 23, 2017 in Austin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Scott Boucher officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Michael Boehnke was born January 25, 1959 in Wharton to Ben Wayne and Sue Nelson Boehnke. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, he worked in the telecommunications industry. Michael enjoyed all sports, and was an avid outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, and playing golf were favorite hobbies.

Survivors include sons Mitchell Boehnke and wife Maren, from Denver, Colorado, and Derek Boehnke of Deer Park; sisters and brothers-in-law Lisa and James Janak of Atascocita, and Karen and Bodley Thornton of Katy. Also surviving is one grandchild, James Benjamin Boehnke.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Sue Boehnke.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Ben or Sue Boehnke Scholarship Fund of Blinn College.

Honorary pallbearers are James Boehnke, Jimmy Rodgers, Casey Hahn, Jimmie Arnold, Ken Janak, Billy Odom, Wallace “Shorty” Johnson, Bennett Higgs, and Kevin Burt.
