Michael James Myers, 53, of Pearland, beloved husband of Susan Horstmann Myers, died April 30 at his home after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, TX, with Father David Ivey officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives Monday, May 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main in Brenham. Born Aug. 19, 1956 in Salamanca, New York to Joseph Stephen and Helen Mary Brol Myers, he moved to his dearly loved Texas in 1978 after graduating from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, NY. An avid fisherman, hunter and Buffalo Bills fan, Mike enjoyed life to its fullest, traveling and fishing throughout the world with his wife, Susan. Mike spent the better part of his working career with his second family at Montgomery Machine as a quality assurance manager in the oil and gas industry. He is survived by his wife, Susan Myers of Pearland; brother and sister-in-law Joseph S. and Marjorie Myers of Cuba, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law Julia and John M. Florea of Hamburg, NY; Cynthia and Robert Lockwood of Brewster, NY; father-in-law and mother-in-law Wilbert and Hilda Horstmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gary and Nancy Horstmann of Rosenberg, TX; Barbara and Glenn Horstmann of Taylor, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and a great-nephew. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mike''s memory to Holocaust Museum Houston. Donations may be sent to the Museum at 5401 Caroline St., Houston, TX, 77004 or made online at www.hmh.org . Memorials may also be directed to the Blinn College Foundation in Brenham.
