Mildred Rodenbeck Buerger, 81, of Brenham, TX, died May 29, 2004, in Gazebo Terrace Nursing Center in Brenham. Mrs. Buerger was born Aug. 20, 1922, to Ed and Esther Hopman Rodenbeck. On Dec. 1, 1942, she married Charlie Buerger in St. Peter s Lutheran Church in Gay Hill. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Charlie Buerger of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Arthur Hueske; grandchildren, Jason Edward Hueske and wife Julie, Jamie Marie McCain and husband Chris; great-grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Hueske, Addison Alyse McCain and Braden Charles McCain; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Bill Walker of Lumberton, Irene Busse of Navasota and Kathryn and Gilbert Janner of Brenham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Helen Rodenbeck of Brenham, Calvin Rodenbeck of Brenham and Ruth Rodenbeck; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Erich and Anita Oberhoff, Bill and Dottie Buerger, Virginia Buerger and Helen Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Buerger Jr.; her parents; sister, Lillie Smith; brothers, Gilbert Rodenbeck, Edward Rodenbeck, Wilburn Rodenbeck and brothers-in-law, Walter Buerger and Lonnie Buerger. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 31 in Salem Lutheran Church in Salem with Pastors Bill Derrick and Mike Widner officiating. Burial was in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church in Salem. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
